As the much awaited (much dreaded) Valentines Day approaches, i am here with some useful tips to make shopping for the special someone hopefully easier and less stressful.
So here goes!
There are ideas which necessarily dont have to cost much money. its the thought that counts and rightly so! to have a personalized yet memorable V-day how about breakfast in bed for your loved one(s)? the perfect way of starting the day, suprise someone special with specially laid out breakfast tray with some flowers, a little note and breakfast of course!
If you dont happen to be a morning person then why not beat the usual overly booked restaurants and cook a special meal for 2? it can be a surprise or group/couple activity. put on some music, relax and chop, stir and fry away! this can be followed by watching a favourite movie or just going out for takeout coffee and a long drive. who said romance had to cost money? ;)
A trip to the beach, the cinema its all about being with that someone that matters. not where you are and what you are doing.
Coming to our favourite the materialistic goods- how about a revamped version of the mixed tape? an ipod updated with a playlist of his/her favourite songs. its practical, and the list of songs shows how well you know the other person and how much you care about them!
Lingerie, jewellery, candy, stuffed toys- im not even going to approach the usual. Bo-ring!
i prefer more thoughtful gifts, which necessarily dont have monetary value attached to them. Films, Music, photographs. Books are a personal favourite. i think they are my favourite present for any occasion. it shows how well you know a person, and what their likes and dislikes are yet books with a simple inscription can make an impersonal gift quite personal.
For the men out there-piece of advice. avoid buying your valentine clothes. and if you must then try seeking the sales staff's advice! dont take the plunge alone! they are there to advise and help so allow.
Gift vouchers are a great idea- for anyone. Book a trip to the spa or salon for your loved one. Let them relax and take a few hours out for much needed 'me' time.
So while i go and try to think of a gift for my someone special, i hope these tips help you in finding the perfect gift for this holiday :)
